Clinics & Services
Health Promotion Clinics
These clinics are run by our specialist nurses. Their aim is to discover and treat conditions before they develop into major problems. Some of the areas we cover are asthma, diabetes, prevention of coronary heart disease and blood pressure.
Family Planning
Advice on all types of family planning (contraception advice) is available from the doctors and specialist nurses during normal surgery hours. We provide some contraceptive services including implants, injections and pills.
Antenatal Clinic
These clinics are run by the Midwives who are based at Wetherby Health Centre. They conduct clinics at Bramham Surgery on – Tuesday afternoons or Monday and Wednesday mornings at Wetherby Health Centre
Cervical Smears
All female patients are advised to have regular 3 yearly smear tests between the age of 24.5yrs and 50yrs. Then 5 yearly up to 64 years. This is an important procedure undertaken by our specialist nurses (or the female doctor if there are special circumstances).
Minor Surgery
We carry out various minor surgery procedures in our treatment rooms.
Counselling Clinics
Access to these clinics is via referral from the GP or alternatively, for mild to moderate depression/anxiety you can self -refer (read more on our "Mental Health & Wellbeing" page in the Further Information section opposite).
Exercise by Prescription
We are part of a scheme run by the Tadcaster Swimming Pool and Tadcaster Leisure Centre involving a programme of monitored exercise at a reduced cost. To use this service, you must make an appointment to see a GP.
Practice Nurses
As well as running the health promotion clinics, our nurses provide a wide range of services. Please enquire at Reception before making your appointment.
Private Medical Examinations
Medical examinations for special purposes, e.g. HGV medicals, Insurance medicals etc are undertaken by the doctors at the end of morning surgery. An appointment must be booked in advance. These are private services which will incur a fee.
Child Health & Immunisation
It is important that all pre-school children are fully immunised. All immunisations are performed by our specialist nurses in their routine clinics.
