Practice Merger Update – 18th March 2024

We are pleased to announce that the merger between Bramham Medical Centre and Wetherby Surgery has been officially sanctioned by the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.  The new merged surgery will operate under the name Wetherby & Bramham Surgery, to retain both areas of our patient populations.

As part of the approval the Harewood branch surgery will be closed permanently.

Effective April 1st 2024, our two practices will join forces to provide care to all our patients.  This merger marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing healthcare accessibility, efficiency and quality in our community.

As patients of the newly formed Wetherby & Bramham Surgery, you can expect several benefits from this merger:

Expanded Services: With combined resources and expertise, we hope to offer an expanded range of services available across both our sites.

Streamlined Processes: Our merger will optimise administrative processes, ensuring smoother patient experience, starting with the move of our telephone answering service to one place at Wetherby under the central phone number of 01937 585669.

Continuity of Care: Rest assured, your continuity of care remains our top priority.  Your existing healthcare team will continue to provide the same personalised attention and medical expertise you have come to trust.

Commitment to Excellence: By uniting our practices, we reaffirm our shared commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery, innovation and patient satisfaction.

As the final part of our merging process the clinical systems of the two practices will be merged on the afternoon of 16th April 2024.  This is probably the most technically challenging part of the process and we will have to cease services from 2pm on that day, to allow the merge to complete. The following day we will be one system, previous online access should be available to all patients in the new system.

We understand that change can bring questions or uncertainties, but we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all our patients.  Should you have any queries regarding the merger or its implications for your care, please do not hesitate to ask our staff.

We are very grateful for your continued trust and support as we start this new phase together.

Sincerely

Stephanie Drury
