Wetherby & Bramham Surgery – 28-Day Prescribing Update

To improve safety, reduce medicine waste and support better monitoring, we will now issue most repeat prescriptions in 28-day quantities, in line with NHS and BMA guidance.

What this means for you:
• Less waste if your medicines change
• Fewer medication errors
• Safer use at home with fewer open packs
• Easier to keep track of doses
• Simpler monthly ordering of repeat medicines

Some short-term or “as-needed” medicines may still be issued in different amounts – this includes HRT and Contraception.

If you pay for prescriptions, an NHS Prescription Prepayment Certificate (search “NHS PPC”) may help reduce costs.
