Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Working Days: Monday and Wednesday.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses who have completed extra training and academic qualification to be able to clinically assess, diagnose, refer and treat patients who present with undiagnosed or undifferentiated problems. Advanced nurse practitioners are highly-trained health professionals that can undertake complex reviews of patients, similar to GPs. They can assess symptoms and build a picture of a patient’s condition, treat minor health problems, infections, minor injuries and prescribe medication where necessary. They can also often manage more complicated problems, for instance, patients presenting with long-term health conditions, such as diabetes and COPD.
Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) are healthcare professionals, educated to Master’s level or equivalent, with the skills and knowledge to allow them to expand their scope of practice to better meet the needs of the people they care for. ACPs are deployed across all healthcare settings and work at a level of advanced clinical practice that pulls together the four ACP pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research
Home Visiting Paramedic

Home visiting was traditionally carried out by GPs, but it is now becoming increasingly difficult for GPs to do, and many doctors surgeries, such as ours, are utilising the medical skills of paramedics who are now carrying out home visits to alleviate the pressure on GPs. Paramedics working within primary care possess the knowledge, leadership and complex skills needed for home visiting, and some are independent prescribers.

Our Practice Nurses will undertake many of the nursing procedures at the surgery, such as child immunisations, ECGs, dressings and injections, wound care, smears. They are also trained to perform annual reviews with patients who have long term chronic conditions such as Asthma, COPD, Heart Disease including Hypertension. Our Practice Nurses have undertaken separate training for each type of condition, so not every Nurse can undertake all types of reviews if they haven’t completed training.

Practice Manager
Helen is responsible for the overall leadership and smooth operation of the surgery. She oversees all aspects of the practice’s management and compliance with NHS standards. Working closely with the clinical and administrative teams, Helen ensures that the surgery runs efficiently and that patients receive the highest quality of care in a well-organised and supportive environment.

Natalie supports the Practice Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the surgery. In addition to her management duties, they are responsible for the administration of insurance reports and the coordination of private, non-NHS work.

Patient Services Manager
Charlotte leads and supports the Patient Services Team, ensuring that every patient receives a helpful and positive experience when contacting or visiting the surgery. Charlotte oversees the day-to-day running of the reception, providing guidance and support to staff while maintaining high standards of service. Their role is central to ensuring that patient enquiries and requests are handled efficiently, professionally, and with care.

Our medical secretary plays a vital role in ensuring smooth communication and coordination between patients, healthcare providers, and hospitals. They are responsible for managing referrals — both sending referrals to other care providers and hospitals, and liaising with hospital teams. Their work helps to ensure that patients receive timely, coordinated care and that all administrative aspects of their treatment are handled efficiently and accurately.
